Statement of Gambling Policy Consultation

Under the Gambling Act 2005 the Council is obliged to publish a "statement of gambling licensing policy" and review it at least every three years, the reviewed and updated Policy is due in 2025. A consultation is required as part of this process, we are therefore seeking views and comments on the attached Policy and Local Area Profile documents.

Changes to the Policy include the amendment to The Licensing Authority’s address along with other responsible authorities addresses. An updated map of Oxford reflecting the new wards and boundaries. Any textual amendments are highlighted in pink.

When amending its Statement of Gambling Licensing Policy, the Council will take account of all comments received, provided they relate to at least one of the three licensing objectives:

  • Preventing gambling from being a source of crime and disorder, being associated with crime and disorder or being used to support crime
  • Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way
  • Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
