DescriptionThe Government has amended the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) act 1982 by means of section 120 the Local Government Act 2003 which provides Local Authorities with specific powers to regulate businesses providing cosmetic piercing (ear piercing or body piercing) and semi-permanent skin-colouring (eg micro pigmentation, semi-permanent make-up and temporary tattooing). Oxford City Council intends to adopt these powers and make byelaws which will control cosmetic piercing within the City of Oxford.
