A series of forty-four historic urban character statements have been produced for central Oxford intended as summary introductions to the built character and historic environment of each area.
An introductory report and the individual draft statements can be download below.
This consultation invites wider public comments on the individual reports before they are made available on-line. Please use the link to the questionnaire provided below.
This project was undertaken by the Heritage and Specialist Services Team of the City Council with funding from English Heritage. It forms part of the evidence base for the Oxford City Heritage Plan.
The map below sets out the numbering system for the forty-four different character areas or HUCA's. The colour coding shows the wider character zones to which they belong.
