Barton Area Action Plan (Proposed Submission Document)
![]()
Oxford City Council has published the proposed submission document for the Barton Area Action Plan (AAP); a Development Plan Document that is part of the Local Development Framework. The AAP sets out policies for the development of land to the north of the ring-road at Barton and surrounding areas. The AAP supports the delivery of the Oxford Core Strategy 2026.
The proposed submission document sets out draft planning policies. The earlier rounds of consultation helped us to identify the issues. This stage of consultation is different; we are now asking whether the AAP is considered to be sound. To be 'sound' (as defined in National Planning Policy) a plan must be 'justified', 'effective' and 'consistent with national policy'. We are also consulting on the Barton AAP: Sustainability Appraisal, please use the response form provided.
You can respond to each section/policy of the Barton AAP as you go through the document. Please click on the Barton AAP, proposed submission document link below, where you will be able to respond.
Please refer to the notes on completing the questionnaire for guidance on how to respond to the questions.
We are currently collating all the comments recieved, these will be ready to view by mid to end of April.
This consultation has now closed.
